FAQ
What type of accommodations will students have?
For winter programs, students will be housed at 3 Star hotels with two students per room nearby university campuses. A member of the Excelorators team stay with the group throughout the program.
What kinds of meals are provided?
Students will enjoy an array of traditional American cuisine including campus cafeterias and other favorite local student eateries. These cafeterias feature buffet style dining that includes salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza, noodles and a daily rotating menu. Special arrangements are always made available for students with special dietary needs, including halal alternatives.
Can parents attend the program, and if so what is the cost?
Yes, we welcome parents to attend the program with their children. Parents may choose to attend the courses with their children or enjoy an alternative schedule that includes sightseeing, education and shopping in the local Boston or San Francisco area.
How many students may enroll in this program?
There is a limited capacity of 40 students for each exciting experience. When students stay in the dormitories or hotel.
Will you assign chaperones to assist with student supervision?
A member of the Excelorators team stays in the dorms and/or hotels throughout the program. Additionally, the university assigns a resident advisor and 24-hour security for the groups.
Do you have clear emergency medical procedures?
Yes. We have contracted with a doctor on call who is licensed in the state of Massachusetts. Additionally, each university has very specific guidelines and procedures to address the medical needs of our students.
Will students receive a certificate upon graduation?
Yes. Each student will receive a distinctive certificate designating the location of the training, which is signed by leading faculty officials and awarded during the graduation ceremony at the end of the academic portion of the program.
Are awards provided to the top students in each class?
Yes. Depending on the program, Letters of Recommendation signed by a member of the teaching staff will be awarded to the top performing students.
What can I expect on the last day of the program?
On the last day of the program you’ll receive a certificate of completion given at the end of the day. If you need to leave early due to travel plans, your program manager can arrange to get you the certificate early.
How much time can I expect to spend on coursework each day?
We know time out of the office is precious and as such, we want to make every hour out of the office and in our programs as productive as possible. Our programs span full business days starting early in the morning (typically 8am) and will go through 5pm with lunch served in the classroom and short breaks throughout the day. Approximately 1-2 hours of evening activities and preparation for the next day are required for some programs. Please refer to the individual program sample schedule for more detail.
Do I need a visa to attend a program?
For international participants, the B1/B2 visa (for participation in scientific, educational, professional, or business conventions, conferences, or seminars) is the appropriate visa for entry into the United States from required countries. When applying for a visa, you can ask your Program Manager to prepare an invitation letter to help with your visa application. It is important to emphasize that the visit is for business purposes.
What are my options if a program date is sold out?
Our programs are specifically limited in size to maximize the participant experience and interaction with faculty, guest speakers and other participants. Due to this limitation, we often experience sold out situations – so it’s important to enroll early in pay in full immediately to guarantee your seat in the program.
Can I transfer to a different program date?
To transfer to a different date, an enrolled participant can submit a written request (email: info@excelorators.com) for a one-time transfer of enrollment to another iteration of the same program as long as, the next program iteration takes place within 12 months of the original date. All requests for transfer are subject to an additional fee of $300.
